Hojalata / Tin Plate

En los últimos años, la industria de artículos y adornos de todo tipo en México, ha crecido significativamente, sobre todo en cuanto al desarrollo de nuevos productos y variedad en los materiales para fabricarlos. Otra de las artesanías llamativa y vistosa que se realiza en el Valle de Oaxaca, es el trabajo hecho en “hojalata”, donde la habilidad y creatividad de los artesanos transforma la lámina de hierro o acero estañada en figuras decorativas llenas de colorido.

Mexico´s decoration industry has grown considerably in the past few years, mainly in the new line of products and the variety of material used to manufacture them. Another of the most showny and colorful handicraft made by artisans in the valley of Oaxaca is the work made in “tin plate”, this material is a tinfoil worked in both sides in which artisans create decorative and colorful figures.
